As part of our planning process for the 2016-17 year and the University’s move to four-credit courses (instead of three), we’ve developed and approved the schedule blocks for courses transitioning from three credits to four.

What are schedule blocks?
These are the time slots that four-credit (and weekend) courses will be offered next year. For you, it helps to know what times courses may be held so you can plan accordingly.

Which majors are NOT impacted by this?
Since there are fewer of them, it’s easier to list the majors that will not be fully impacted by these schedule blocks: Art, interior design, music, music therapy, art therapy, education, master of business administration, and online business programs. However, if your degree program involves you taking courses in the Marylhurst Core or courses outside of your major, you too may be impacted by this. Our advice – when the schedule of classes is released in July, check your courses carefully to see if they have shifted to four credits. In addition, the Academic Advising office will host special advising sessions later this summer to help students with questions.
