As an added resource to the “everything academic” Marylhurst blog, we also created a one-stop resource page that provides links to additional information referenced in the blog posts, such as the Master Academic Plan, FAQs, etc.
The Master Academic Plan focuses on academic issues as well as academic and administrative supports for the university. Academic planning is an activity based on the mission, vision and values of the university and its overarching goals. This plan informs all of the other university plans, e.g., departmental plans, college plans, facilities master plans, the strategic plan of the university, etc.

Academic restructure (comparing new structure to the old one)
In 2015, Marylhurst embarked upon a new structure for academic departments. The goal was to improve how we operate with the best interest of students in mind. We looked at ways we can operate more efficiently while continuing to offer a high-quality educational experience for our students. The end result: academic excellence, financial stability for the university and predictability in scheduling for students and faculty. The restructure re-focused administrative responsibilities so that faculty can commit more time to create academic endeavors: curriculum, course development and teaching and mentoring students. Check out President Rose’s letter to students announcing the restructure.
