Introducing: the Marylhurst blog portal
Here at Marylhurst we are curious, passionate, mindful and engaged. We care about the world’s affairs and our place amongst them. We value thoughtful, provocative conversations about sustainability, politics, and pop culture. We don’t shy away from potentially controversial topics. Because they’re important.
The Marylhurst Blog is a space to engage and discuss the relevant, important topics of our world. Its purpose is to foster thoughtful inquiry — even debate — about the issues that already show up in our classrooms, news feeds, coffee shops, and work spaces. Whether those topics involve literature, technology, issues in higher education, ageism, film reviews or corporate ethics, this blog provides the opportunity for our community to dialogue with one another — and to invite all to take part.
Over the coming weeks, you will see a diverse range of posts published here. There will be student reflections and student editorials. Faculty weigh in on the “fiscal cliff” and digital democracy. Our department blogs (located in the sidebar) have even more content — from digital English to servant leadership. Feel free to engage with the topics. Leave comments. Dialogue with authors and your fellow readers. The conversation starts here.
