With Google Docs, it’s possible to share a variety of ways. You can share with specific people or you can share with a community, for example, everyone within marylhurst.edu. For all these options you can specify the level of sharing: viewing , commenting, or editing.
There’s another option, however, publish to the web. This option is generally available under the file menu. What is does is essentially turn your document into a view only web page and makes that page available to the world. It’s a great way to quickly share something. For example, you might be collaborating on a flyer with a small group of people. You have shared the file with specific individuals, and no one else can see it. When you complete the flyer, simple “publish to web” and now it’s public!
