Leaders are called to guide and lead from many different directions. The call to act as a motivator, guide, teacher, and mentor is often the first step in a journey that leads to becoming a servant leader. Many leaders describe this as an inner need to share their vision and influence it's emergence into the world.
The Marylhurst Center for Servant Leadership was born of a desire to enable others to realize the power of servant leadership. As a University, our focus is on our students. As a member of a larger community, we are committed to making our resources available throughout the Pacific Northwest. Thanks to a generous grant from the Peter R. Marsh Foundation, the Center is now a reality.
Special thanks must go to David McNamee, Chair of the Dept. of Business and Leadership, for his innovative leadership in advancing the idea of a Center for Servant Leadership. It will help the Marylhurst University fulfill a key part of its mission, which is to “encourage its students to pursue the ideals of competence, leadership, and service.”
