Marylhurst University, in Marylhurst, Oregon, in partnership with the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, the Spears Center for Servant Leadership, and the Peter R. Marsh Foundation is proud to host the 2011 Pacific Northwest Region Conference on Servant Leadership on October 20 – 21, 2011.

You are invited to submit a proposal to the Conference Review Committee for a presentation at this regional conference.

2011 Overall Theme: Servant-Leadership: Practice and Application

Moving beyond perceptions of being idealistic, weak or “touchy-feely” servant-leadership is gathering strength as a viable, descriptive way of leading that has strong, positive results in a wide range of organizational and personal settings. A significant, and growing, number of companies and organizations point to servant-leadership as a guiding light for business operations. A significant, and growing, number of well-known and admired leaders cite servant-leadership as a personal mantra.

The Pacific Northwest Region Conference on Servant Leadership is for any person with an interest in, and concern for, servant leadership in any of its contexts and in any of its sites, from home to school to university to the workplace.

The Conference will address a range of critically important ideas relating to servant leadership. Keynote sessions will include some of the world’s leading thinkers in the field of servant leadership.

The Regional Conference is a participants’ conference. Participants are invited to submit a proposal for a paper presentation, workshop, or a jointly presented colloquium session of up to 90 minutes duration.

Submission Deadline:

The submission deadline for proposals is July 15, 2011.  

Presentation Formats

The conference organizing committee invites proposals that describe ‘real world’ servant leadership practices or academic research topics.

Presenters of accepted proposals must be registered conference participants.

Presentation/Paper Focus:

Presentations and papers may focus on Organizational Implementation, Personal Development, Research, or Faith. They may also combine these focus areas.

Brief Abstract – (65 words max.) for printed programs and other marketing purposes

Full Abstract – (300 word limit) this longer abstract will be used on the conference website
